In January 2023, CAHN was commissioned by Manchester City Council to run a Victim’s Voice panel for people with Lived Experience of domestic abuse.

The aim of the project was to:

  • Engage with victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse from different backgrounds to understand the gaps within the current service provision and gather feedback to help improve Manchester City Council’s services.
  • Collate information to help inform future decision-making and create an inclusive and user-friendly service at the Manchester City Council.
  • Engage with victims of Domestic Abuse and gather feedback on how we tackle Violence Against Women, Girls and Men across the Partnership.

In the past 12 months, panellists met to discuss key topics to help improve MCC service provision.

The opportunity to let participants make that decision was key in reassuring the that their voice matters.

The data collected was shared with MCC, in the hope of improving the quality of services provided to victims of domestic abuse in the City of Manchester.

On the 14th of February 2024, our panellists are delighted to invite you at this celebratory event to showcase their achievements.

We are also delighted to have MCC officials who engaged with panellists throughout this project. Following the recommendations made by panel members, MCC would be sharing how they plan to move their engagement with Victims of Abuse forward.
