Call for Membership Applications – Olive Pathway, SAWN and SafeLives

Our GBV Lived Experience Reference Group is now open for applications! If you are interested in joining our Lived Experience Reference Group we’d love to hear from you.

Selection Criteria:

  1. You have been personally impacted by gender-based violence
  2. You’re a woman from a Black, Asian, or other racially minoritised background and/or have a disability and/or identify as LGBT and/or are older and/or are neuro-divergent and/or experience the impact of intersectionality.
  3. You may also have experience of the family courts, are care experienced, have no recourse to public funds (NRPF), or have experience after abuse with services which has re-traumatised you or made things worse.
  4. You are keen to use your experience to improve the lives of survivors, with and for survivors across Greater Manchester.

If it’s a YES, we look forward to hearing from you. We believe hearing and acting on your words is the only way to bring about change which improves the lives of survivors.

The deadline for applications is 25th August. The interviews will be on 15th, 18th, 19th and 20th September.

Some women’s voices don’t get heard so we are particularly interested in hearing from you if you’re a woman from a Black, Asian, or another racially minoritised background and/or have a disability and/or identify as LGBT and/or are older and/or are neurodivergent and/or experience the impact of intersectionality. We would also like to hear from you if you’ve had experience of the family courts, are care experienced, have no recourse to public funds (NRPF), or have experience after abuse with services which has re-traumatised you or made things worse. Group members will be people who have been personally impacted by Gender-Based Violence who are keen to use their experience to improve the lives of survivors, with and for survivors across Greater Manchester. We recognise that people are experts by experience. We want to hear from you because we believe hearing and acting on your words is the only way to bring about change which improves the lives of survivors. As a group member your input will help us work out the group’s focus and priorities and we will support you to ensure your involvement is as creative and unique as you are!
