Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) is a grassroots charity committed to supporting our vision of everyone having a right to live in safety, and to have a future without fear of domestic abuse. We work directly with women, men and children who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.
We are looking to recruit a Complex Domestic Abuse Practitioner to work alongside our high-risk IDVA service to provide an intensive programme of support to those victims who are identified as having multiple or complex needs, repeat victimisation and – where engagement attempts have
proven unsuccessful – in improving outcomes.

They will maintain a unique working partnership between Stockport Without Abuse (SWA) and statutory safeguarding partners, and will help to enable victims to develop and maintain relationships that promote their wellbeing, keep them safe
and prevent, reduce or delay their need to access statutory services.

Main purpose of the post:
Work innovatively, and where necessary assertively, with people with a range to needs to help
them achieve agreed outcomes, building upon their existing strengths and support networks.
Where agreed, facilitate a support plan that is SMART in application and act as a lead
professional to co-ordinate interventions where required.
To identify and manage risk issues and carry out relevant risk assessments such as MARAC in
order to safeguard individuals and their children.

Why work with us?
Our non-salary benefits include a 4% pay increase upon successful completion of your 6-month
probationary period, 24 days per annum plus 8 days’ public bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff),
one day per annum birthday annual leave, regular clinical supervision with an external provider, 3%
employer contributory pension. Sometimes there’s even cake.
