As a Hospital Based Maternity MiDASS IDVA (we call them IDVA here) you will: Be responsible for delivering domestic violence and abuse (DVA) training to health professionals. Working with pre and post-natal women within a maternity hospital setting to improve their understanding of domestic violence and abuse (DVA). To increase the numbers of victims identified and referred for support. Provide risk assessment, holistic support and advocacy for the individuals referred by the participating maternity hospital professionals.

To be successful as an Hospital Based Maternity IDVA you will need to: Have a formal qualification in gender-based violence eg. SafeLives IDVA or ISAC or willing to complete in post. Have a working knowledge of the civil and criminal justice system, welfare benefits and immigration in relation to high risk of high harm service users. Have an excellent working knowledge of risk assessments, risk management and safety and support planning in relation to IDVA service users.
