Responsible to: CEO

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a part time VCS Co-ordinator within Saheli.  If you are passionate about making a difference in women’s lives  by helping them to develop their skills, knowledge and gain a good understanding of business, then this role is for you. To lead, facilitate and seek out opportunities and initiatives and manage the catering business. This is a part time role and currently remote working.

Job Purpose:

This is a real opportunity for you to make a difference by building on the foundations of this exciting venture. Our aim as ever, is to empower women to develop their skills and confidence and thus, open doors into the workplace and rewarding, independent lives. With a strong accent on inclusion for women over the age of 50, and young women with children, you will be building on and developing systems which provide the structure for this project to succeed!

There will be an accent on cookery/food hygiene, delivering training, and facilitating group work. We will also aim to provide/facilitate ESOL and I.T. classes and provide a crèche.

The project will require you to produce effective marketing streams, and build contacts for the development of a successful, profitable catering service to local businesses and the voluntary sector in general. This project is currently at the centre of discussions with senior management, re how best to develop and sustain the potential which has become so evident in the past 2 years or so. Providing what we hope will be an excellent resource for residents and volunteers, to learn new skills which can be applied in the workplace, in tandem with a profit making resource which will support other initiatives in order to provide opportunities for greater independence to the women we support.

The role is split into two 17.5 hour posts, with one focusing on developing Zesty Cuisine and the catering side and other focusing on supporting the women survivors of domestic abuse to benefit through support and empowerment. This said, it is important that the two people who take on these interim positions, should be able to work well together, and where necessary support one another in the work you will be doing.

For the Zesty post in particular, it is important that you have a good understanding of budgets and effectively managing finances, in addition to being able to plan and implement a number of initiatives simultaneously in order to drive this project forward.

We offer:

· Employer’s contributory pension scheme

· 25 days of annual leave (pro rata)

· 24/7 Employee Assist programme.
