About Us:

PTMWA is a women-led organisation whose vision is to ensure that people, suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support. We assist recovery by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies. We also run the only museum dedicated to telling the story of women’s fight for the right to vote at our Pankhurst Centre headquarters.

About You:

You will be: passionate about supporting the practitioners and other stakeholders who support families experiencing, or who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and/or sexual violence; someone who knows and shares our values and culture; someone who can communicate effectively across all stakeholder groups; create interesting and relevant training content and evidence the learning from delivered training programmes. You will have:

· A relevant qualification in training or equivalent experience and willingness to undertake a formal qualification

· A good knowledge of the impact of sexual violence and domestic violence and abuse.

· Excellent IT skills, proficient in MS Office and online training platforms.

· Some flexibility to work evenings or weekends (if required).

About the role:

We welcome applications from people seeking part-time (17.5 hours) work as well as full-time (35). All roles are subject to a DBS check and we seek 2 x references, 1 of whom must be your current employer if applicable.

Trainer – 1 Role available (12 month contract)

This role has been assessed and confirmed as open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, schedule 9, part 1

You will be responsible for the delivery of training programmes to improve the knowledge, skills, and competence of practitioners, trainees, volunteers and other stakeholders which may require you to:

· Deliver internal practitioner training ensuring participants attain the relevant level of competence to deliver their role.

· Provide 1-1 mentor support to PTMWA trainees/apprentices as part of our ‘home grown’ initiative.

· Deliver training in line with legislative requirements and organisational strategic planning eg Safeguarding CYP and Safeguarding Adults, DVA Awareness, Sexual Violence Reduction.

· Ensure records are kept up-to date at all times, reflecting internal and external training undertaken.

· Develop and deliver specific training in line with stakeholder needs to external partners

· Support the development of partnerships across the Greater Manchester area and beyond.
