About us:

PTMWA is a women-led organisation whose vision is to ensure that people, suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support. We assist recovery by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies. We also run the only museum dedicated to telling the story of women’s fight for the right to vote at our Pankhurst Centre headquarters.

About the role:

All roles are subject to a DBS check and we seek 2 x references, 1 of whom must be your current employer if applicable.

Domestic Abuse Worker (Sahara Project) – 1 Role

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and meeting the emotional and practical support needs of victims of domestic violence and abuse referred into the National Lottery Community Fund funded Sahara project . The post holder will advocate on their behalf and provide structured support to enable them to start their journey of recovery. They will co-facilitate the delivery of group work across the city which women can access as well as supporting women to step down to support from the groups and peer mentors as appropriate.

This role has been assessed and confirmed as open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, schedule 9, part 1

Hours of work: 35 per week to include evening and weekend work.

Salary: £21, 077 per annum.

Duration: Fixed term until 30th April 2022.

Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays, pro rata for part-time workers.
