We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated IRIS Advocate Educator to join our highly experienced team. The post will involve various duties to meet the needs of the organisation.

Purpose of the role:

The role of the Advocate Educator is a challenging and busy one where you will need to be proactive in managing your workload. Your role will include providing Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) training to GP surgeries to improve health professionals understanding of domestic abuse, with the aim of increasing the number of referrals made by GP surgeries for domestic abuse support. You will also provide support and advocacy for individuals experiencing domestic abuse who have been referred by the participating GP surgeries. Working as part of a team you will be involved in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating the new IRIS service across Bolton.

Key skills:

· An ability to provide and coordinate advocacy and support to meet the needs of individuals currently experiencing / who have experienced domestic abuse identified via GP practices in accordance with guidance issued by the IRIS National Implementation Team

· In conjunction with GP practices, assist in developing criteria and mechanisms for identifying, recording and referring individuals currently experiencing / who have experienced domestic abuse

· Provide training regarding domestic abuse and violence as prescribed by the IRIS National Implementation Team to GPs and staff at GP practices over the course of 12 months
