LGBT Foundation is looking for an experienced, highly adaptable manager with an understanding of domestic abuse within LGBT communities to become our new Domestic Abuse Service Manager

Our domestic abuse team currently offer a high level of support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse. The support on offer is not only for those currently experiencing domestic abuse but also for those who have previously experience this. The current support offer includes the provision of a holistic assessment, safety and support planning, 1:1 casework session, housing advice, and housing support.

The Domestic Abuse Services Manager role is an important role as it oversees the delivery of support through line managing two officers and our IDVA service, as well as supporting service users who are often experiencing crisis. The role is crucial to the development of the programme and encompasses the delivery of training and consultation to increase practitioner’s skills and raise aware of domestic abuse within the LGBT community. In addition to the above, the Domestic Abuse Services Manager role is responsible for overseeing and developing our current housing offer. This is a demanding role and as such requires a person who is adaptable and can strategically lead in a fast-paced environment often juggling conflicting demands to meet service user needs.

A comprehensive knowledge of Domestic abuse case work and the solutions required to work in this service is key to the success of this role. An awareness of the issues facing victims of domestic abuse in the LGBT community and the overall impact it has on lives is also needed. Having the ability to work with various stakeholders to support the service, promote our delivery and represent the organisation in various forums will be a requirement of this role.
