WAST (Women Asylum Seekers Together) was started in 2005 by a small group of women seeking asylum to support each other and campaign for their safety and human rights. WAST now has around 150 members and is a unique organisation run by and for women who are seeking asylum.
This is a new post and presents an opportunity to support WAST in the next stage of its development. The post holder will help WAST develop and sustain its organisational infrastructure and support the management group elected from the membership to develop and run the activities of WAST and campaign for justice in the asylum system.
In line with the organisational the ethos as led ‘by and for’ women in the asylum system, WAST strongly encourages women with a refugee or other migrant background to apply.
