Independent Choices has been awarded the Women’s Aid National Quality Mark today, demonstrating that it provides a high quality of service to women and children experiencing domestic violence in Greater Manchester. The Women’s Aid Quality Standards are national standards which measure the quality of specialist domestic violence services on a number of factors. Independent Choices were particularly commended for an exemplary level of service user participation, in articulating their own needs and problem solving around them and for having an impressive track record of delivering safe targeted advice support and interventions to women at standard, medium and high risk of domestic violence. It was also highlighted that volunteers are integral to the service and this is reflected in the excellent volunteer policy guidance and support documentation.
